I have made a mainsail cover for my P15. It's kind of handy in that it's
made "upside down". Meaning the zipper is on the top. You catch
the forward end near the goose neck of the boom and hook it over a mast
cleat and the aft end is tied to the end of the boom. When you flake the
main you just stuff it into the cover and then fasten the hooks and zip
it closed. You can see what I mean from the photo taken during the April
Anderson trip a couple of years ago.
It keeps the sail from filling the cockpit or falling overboard when flaking.
It's kind of like a stack & pack that some of the bigger boats use.
