Jarrell Cove State Park

Jarrell Cove State park is the destination for our Saturday night moorage. The satellite picture to the right shows the various main features of the cove, and points out the locations for moorage and anchoring. Click on the image to view a larger version of the picture.

We will look for space on the main dock of the state park, but people are welcome to moor where they like. For those that want that "on the hook" feel, but don't want to anchor, there are numerous state park mooring buoys in the cove. For evening entertainment, I suggest that we gather at one of the campsites for a camp fire and nautical story telling.

The state park has a pleasant and relatively short hiking trail taking walkers through the park property and traversing the second growth timber in the park. The park also has showers, which are coin operated (bring quarters). The last time I visited the showers were out of commission as they worked on a new septic tank, but that should all be in working order. At the worst, we could ferry folks over to the private marina on the west side of the cove to use their facilities.

There is a small grocery store at the private marina that stocks various sundries and ice, but it would be preferable to stock up before you leave Boston Harbor.
